Dear Schibello Coffee Group Customers,
Firstly, we at Schibello would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your unwavering support over the last two and a half years. We know that at times, it has been difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel, particularly in an industry so reliant on its people to survive. To our wholesale customers, your perseverance and strength are testament to you as business-owners, but more importantly, people. To our loyal retail customers who have supported us online, we thankyou for your patience through shipping delays and generous support through tough times.
Due to your support, we have been able to withstand price increases from suppliers, the pressures of a depleted workforce and an increase in overall freight and shipping costs for over two years now.
However, in recent months, the supplier increases have not only persisted, but have unfortunately increased to levels we can no longer maintain. This is in addition to green bean coffee prices reaching an 8-year high and increased freight expenses.
President of the Café Owners and Baristas Association of Australia, David Parnham, has stated: “What’s happening globally is there are shortages obviously from catastrophes that are happening in places like Brazil with frosts, and certain growing conditions in some of the coffee growing areas… [shipping] is nearly five times the container prices of two years ago due to global shortages of containers and ships to be able to take things around the world”.
As a result, we have no choice but to increase our prices across the board. We hope that you are able to understand the need to implement these increases – they are essential in allowing us to continue to provide you with exceptional service and a premium coffee product.
If you have questions or would like to discuss this further, please email us at sales@schibellocoffee.com
Again, thank you for your continued support and we look forward to continuing business with you moving forward.
We’re here for you.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, our team have continued to be on the ground, visiting cafes and small businesses, and have listened to all of the setbacks and issues at play. This list has compiled the solutions to many of those setbacks in hopes that other local businesses can stay ahead.
Note: We’re also continuing our training workshops over zoom, so if you need any staff training, technical support, or help with any of the above, we’re more than happy to assist over zoom!
